The local Okanagan/Kamloops news coverage is a big favourite of residents with the NEWS@5
dominating the hour weekdays for viewers. News teams in Kelowna, Vernon, Penticton
and Kamloops provide local reporting (sometimes live) from communities throughout the
coverage area as well as comprehensive weather information.
The 'Good News Bears' station promotion in December has raised over $2,440,000 for local
food banks and continues to grow each year.

 Mike Roberts
Mike Roberts is the most recognized local personality and he is also an award winning
weather forecaster. The region is made up of several weather zones and what makes the
weather reporting so unique is a network of weather watchers located throughout the
broadcast area. In 2007, Mike was awarded the Governor Caring Canadian Award
for his years of community service.
